PORTLAND, Ore. 04/26/2024 — Hot on the heels of Kevin Eastman’s recent success with his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin hardcover dominating the top of the sales charts two years and running, Eastman’s done it again with another bonafide hit on his hands. This week's launch, Drawing Blood, by Eastman and writer David Avallone (Elvira, Batwheels) with artists Ben Bishop (The Aggregate, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin), and Troy Little (Rick and Morty, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) has sold out completely at the distributor level, same day as release. Drawing Blood #1 is being rushed back to print in order to keep up with escalating reorder activity.
"On many level's this is a very personal story—inspired by so many things I have done, seen, or heard about the many sides of this medium we all love and work so hard to carry the ball a bit further down the field than the original heroes that inspired us," said Eastman. "It took two decades and a village to bring it to life, besides the Kickstarter supporters that gave us the first shot—working with David Avallone, Ben Bishop, and Troy Little—are the only reason it is as cool as it is, and even exists today. Dig in and dig deep."
Avallone added: "we're thrilled with the early response to Drawing Blood. The enthusiasm from the fans: this comic is very personal to all of us who work on it, and we can't wait for everyone to read it."
"This book is and always has been an incredibly personal labor of love for all of us and I know people are going to see and feel that as they get deeper and deeper into this story," said Bishop. "I’m so glad to hear it sold out. Truly amazing. Thank you."
