This shouldn't be difficult to understand:
Violence or discrimination against anyone because of their race, religion, gender, or sexuality is abhorrent and should not be tolerated.
Recent events, which sadly represent only the latest example of a serious and on ongoing problem within our society, only serve to underscore that violence and discrimination against Asian-Americans is wrong.
No explanation, no qualifications: It's wrong.
The late writer, Kurt Vonnegut, was fond of repeating an observation his son Mark once made about the meaning of life and the human condition:
"We are here to help each other get through this thing, whatever it is."
Sometimes the best way to help is by understanding.
With that in mind, we'd like to draw your attention to some resources that address the current situation so that we might better support the Asian-American community:
Stop AAPI Hate
NCAPA Online
Asian American Advocacy Fund
There are many more resources circulating right now and we encourage you to take the time to educate further on how best to support the Asian American community.
