PORTLAND, Ore. 09/11/2025 — Eisner Award-nominated creators Tate Brombal (Batgirl, Black Hammer, House of Slaughter) and Jacob Phillips (That Texas Blood, Enfield Gang Massacre, Newburn) have provided The Walking Dead fandom with their pound-of-zombie-flesh in their hair-raising new launch, Everything Dead & Dying. Retailers have already torn through every last copy at the distributor level like a horde on fresh meat, forcing Image Comics to shamble this debut issue back to press to satisfy the insatiable reorder hunger.

"Everything Dead & Dying is a comic that was rejected by multiple publishers across many years before it became my Image debut, so this second printing and the book's success truly means everything to me and is so affirming," said Brombal. "Thank you, retailers, for believing in this tragic zombie tale, and thank you, readers, for embracing its warm, unbeating heart."

Phillips added: "As Everything Dead & Dying begins to spread, like a zombie virus through the world, we are overwhelmed by the incredible reaction so far and the ongoing support of everyone that has sunk their teeth into our little book. Let’s infect some more minds!"

Everything Dead & Dying is a haunting rural character piece set during a zombie outbreak, best described as The Last of Us meets Yellowstone and perfect for readers of The Walking Dead, Essex County, and Revival.

This marks Brombal's debut at Image and is Phillips’ first new series since his breakout collaborations with Chris Condon—That Texas Blood and its prequel/tie-in story The Enfield Gang Massacre.

Phillips joined a recent episode of the Let's Talk Comics podcast
to discuss his career thus far and the path to collaborating with Brombal on this zombie/western mashup.

Everything Dead & Dying follows Jack Chandler, the sole survivor of the zombie apocalypse hunkered down in his rural farming community. But rather than eliminate them, Jack has chosen to continue living alongside the undead—including the husband and adopted daughter he fought so hard to have. But when his town is discovered by outsiders, Jack suddenly becomes the one thing standing in the way of those who hope to kill his family for good.
