RADIANT BLACK A SUPERMASSIVE SOLD OUT HIT AT DISTRIBUTOR, RUSHED BACK TO PRINT SAME DAY AS RELEASE

"A sharp, thoughtful, relentlessly entertaining superhero debut, and a must-read for fans of the genre looking for something new." —SYFYWIRE

PORTLAND, Ore. 2.11.2021 — Customer frenzy for the highly anticipated superhero series Radiant Black by Kyle Higgins (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Ultraman, C.O.W.L.) and Marcelo Costa has rocketed the title to instant bestseller status with the first issue sold out at the distributor level the week of release. Image Comics will rush the first issue back to print in order to keep up with the inertia for the series and the reprint will feature a stunning new cover by artist Carlos Dattoli.

"To say that Marcelo, Becca, Michael and I are thrilled with the initial reaction to Radiant Black, would be a massive understatement,” said Higgins. “As a writer, one of the things I pride myself on is the promise of the premise. Which is why we’re so excited to reveal this stunning new cover by Carlos Dattoli. Issue one is all about the introduction of Nathan, dealing with very grounded problems in the here and now. But as you can see from the stunning piece by Carlos, the scale of his life and problems are about to get a whole lot bigger.”

Radiant Black #1 introduces Nathan Burnett who has just turned thirty. Things aren’t great: He’s working (and failing) at two jobs, his credit card debt is piling up, and his only move… is moving back home with his parents.

But when Nathan discovers and unlocks the ethereal, cosmic RADIANT, he's given the power to radically change his fortunes!

There’s just one problem: The powers don’t belong to him. And the COSMIC BEINGS who created them want them back… by any means necessary.

Radiant Black has been compared to Higgins’ previous work revitalizing the Power Rangers brand with his thirty plus issue run on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, including the smash hit Shattered Grid, for a contemporary superhero mentality similar to the iconic Invincible series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. Kirkman himself calls Radiant Black, “the perfect superhero comic for anyone missing Invincible.”

Radiant Black #1 second printing (Diamond Code JAN218000) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, March 10.

Radiant Black #1 will also be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play
