GHOST MACHINE & COMICS ON COFFEE SIGN LICENSING DEAL

Celebrate “Ghost Machine Day” with a tasty cup of “Ghost Roast” while reading an all-new ongoing Geiger series as well as first issues of Redcoat and Rook: Exodus

LOS ANGELES/FORT MYERS, Fla. 04/03/2024 — Ghost Machine, the creator-owned and creator-operated media company from Brad Anderson, Jason Fabok, Gary Frank, Bryan Hitch, Geoff Johns, Rob Leigh, Lamont Magee, Francis Manapul, Brad Meltzer, Ivan Reis, Peter Snejbjerg, Peter J. Tomasi, and Maytal Zchut, published by Image Comics, and Comics on Coffee, the family-owned brand known for serving premium coffee to comics fans, agreed to a non-exclusive licensing deal. Just in time for “Ghost Machine Day” the first bespoke “Ghost Roast,” a light roast blend created by Comics on Coffee is available for pre-order, with more to come.

“We've specifically chosen a shorter roast time so you can taste the complexity of the beans, from its subtle sweetness to hints of a fruity flavor. And of course, the lighter the roast the more caffeine you could get. Because you know...deadlines,” said coffee enthusiast and Ghost Machine artist/writer Francis Manapul, whose The Rocketfellers with Peter J. Tomasi will come out later this year.

Today’s “Ghost Machine Day” today marks the launch of an all-new ongoing Geiger series from Geoff Johns and Gary Frank; and first issues of Redcoat from Geoff Johns and Bryan Hitch, and Rook: Exodus from Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok. All three titles are colored by Brad Anderson and lettered by Rob Leigh. Ghost Machine #1, the one-shot which introduced Geiger, Redcoat, Rook: Exodus, as well as titles planned for later this year like Hyde Street, The Rocketfellers, Hornsby & Halo, and more, went on sale January 24. All of Ghost Machine’s titles are published through Image Comics.

Ghost Machine’s groundbreaking creator collective was launched at New York Comic Con in October 2023 and features a global best-of-class lineup of artists and writers whose award-winning and iconic works include a who’s who of comic book legends such as Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Aquaman, Stargirl, JSA, The Flash, The Ultimates, Black Lightning, Green Arrow and countless more: Brad Anderson, Jason Fabok, Gary Frank, Bryan Hitch, Geoff Johns, Rob Leigh, Lamont Magee, Francis Manapul, Brad Meltzer, Ivan Reis, Peter Snejbjerg, Peter J. Tomasi, and Maytal Zchut. In an industry first, all of Ghost Machine’s creators jointly own and run the company, sharing in all of Ghost Machine’s publishing, media, merchandising and licensing. Each creator is exclusive to the company for their comic book work after completing projects already committed to.

Founded by husband and wife team Tony and Tanya Scholl, Comics on Coffee is known for serving premium coffee to people who love comics, heroes, and Lord of the Rings. Their high-quality coffee beans are imported directly from farmers around the world and roasted at their facilities in Fort Myers, Florida. Tanya has always had a passion for drawing. Archie Comics and Batman sparked an interest in comics that got her drawing at a very young age. She designs all the Comics on Coffee bags and works closely with licensees to create stunning “collect-worthy” coffee bags for all fans. Tony is head roaster and logistics expert, traveling to different coffee farms to personally check the coffee quality and develop a relationship with the farmers.

Longtime fans of Ghost Machine’s legendary creators, the Scholls seized the opportunity to visit the Ghost Machine booth at last month’s Megacon Orlando. "Tony and I are super excited to work with Ghost Machine. These guys are our heroes,” said Tanya Scholl. “I’ve been studying their art and enjoying their stories for the past 15+ years. They are by far some of the absolute best creators DC and Image has ever had; and to see them continue on with their own titles is so exciting. I’m honored to be the fuel for their next journey!"
