PORTLAND, Ore. 04/16/2026 — Acclaimed writer Tyler Boss (You’ll Do Bad Things, What’s the Furthest Place from Here?), the scribe of Image Comics/Skybound bestselling series Universal Monsters: The Phantom of the Opera, and fan-favorite artist Dylan Burnett (Cosmic Ghost Rider, Arcade Kings) are joining forces for a new Exquisite Corpses spinoff featuring the terrifying character Rascal Randy. This five issue limited series produced by Tiny Onion reveals the origin story of the iconic bunny mascot killer and will hit shelves this July from Image Comics.
“From the moment I saw the full cast of killers for Exquisite Corpses, I, like most discerning readers, knew Randy would be the winner of the first season's game," said Boss. "Now while I still can’t say whether we’ve been proven correct or not, I can say the story Dylan and I have created for everyone’s favorite furry fiend is as sweet and cuddly as a porcupine."
Burnett added: “Bullies, homework, crushes, solving a string of brutal and bizarre murders perpetrated by a weirdo in a giant rabbit costume... Ah, to be young again.”
The sleepy little town of Aurora Springs, NY, has exactly one claim to fame: it’s the birthplace of Rascal Randy. Not the man in the suit—that man has never mattered. He was no one until he put the mascot head on for the first time… not until he felt the life leave someone’s body with his thickly furred gloves wrapped around them.
No, Aurora Springs is the birthplace of Rascal Randy the rabbit, who, once upon a time, was poised to become the greatest animated character this country had ever seen—until greed and tragedy changed his trajectory forever.
Witness the events before season one of Exquisite Corpses that made Rascal Randy New Jersey’s selection for America’s deadliest game. When chaos comes hopping into town, the secret sordid history of Rascal Randy will finally be revealed.
The launch issue will also feature highly collectible covers by top-tier artists such as Javier Pulido (Amazing Spider-Man, She-Hulk), Riley Rossmo (The Moon is Following Us), Brett Bean (D’orc, Dungeon Crawler Carl: Crocodile), and series artist Michael Walsh (The Silver Coin, Universal Monsters: Frankenstein). Walsh’s variant will come polybagged with a collectible trading card tied to the soon-to-launch Exquisite Corpses: The Game, which he co-created with the Tiny Onion team; the game will be available to back on Kickstarter this May.
The horror franchise is growing to include not just Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy, but also two other new spinoff limited series (Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer and Exquisite Corpses: Lone Gunman), along with an anthology one-shot (Exquisite Corpses: Book of the Dead) in addition to the upcoming second season, the feature film adaptation, and the soon-to-launch tabletop card game. Rascal Randy himself even made a special appearance with the Tiny Onion team at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) in his mascot suit, doing photo ops with fans to lovingly strangle them with his weapon of choice: his hands.
Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy will be the first series to spin off from the world after the conclusion of Exquisite Corpses Season One. The limited series will be colored by Eisner Award winner Jordie Bellaire (The Nice House on the Lake) and lettered by rising star Becca Carey (Absolute Wonder Woman).
