PORTLAND, Ore. 04/17/2023 — Acclaimed game designer Cliff Bleszinski (Gears of War, Fortnite) will make his comics writing debut with critically acclaimed co-writer Alex De Campi (Dracula, Motherf**Ker!, Parasocial) and up-and-coming artist Sandy Jarrell (Bombshells, Lynx) in the forthcoming Scrapper. This six issue sci-fi miniseries is set to launch this July from Image Comics.
"As a lifelong fan of comics it's an honor to actually create one with Alex,” said Bleszinski. “Scrapper comes from the heart; first, the loss of my Aussie Teddy and then finding puppy love again with our Pomsky Lady. I truly hope everyone enjoys this deeply personal work."
Science-Fiction-style action mixes with big emotions as stray dog Scrapper and his buddy Tank fight for justice against the totalitarian forces of a post-apocalyptic domed city. But when the fight comes to his home, Scrapper will face losing what’s most important to him—and gain a terrifying truth in the process.

ABOUT CLIFF BLESZINSKI
Cliff Bleszinski began his career at Epic Games and was the lead developer behind award-winning titles such as the Jazz Jackrabbit series, the Unreal series, Gears of War, and Fortnite. In 2014, Bleszinski left Epic and founded his own studio, Boss Key Productions, where he developed and launched LawBreakers and Radical Heights. Bleszinski went on to become a Broadway producer and produced the Eight-time Tony award winner, Hadestown, the revival of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and is currently producing several unannounced projects. Last year, he wrote a memoir called “Control Freak” and is a successful restaurateur in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he resides. Bleszinski is a lifelong comic book fan and is utterly thrilled to deliver Scrapper to fans around the world.
ABOUT ALEX DE CAMPI
Alex de Campi writes comics. She is best known for her critically-acclaimed teen survival thriller No Mercy, her spy noir series May Day, the groundbreaking, digital-native comic Valentine and her recent hit graphic novel Dracula, Motherf*cker, co-created with artist Erica Henderson and her upcoming Parasocial also co-created with Henderson. She was nominated for an Eisner for her first comic work, Smoke. De Campi also directs music videos, and has worked with acts as diverse as Grand Duchy (Frank Black / Violet Clark), Joan As Police Woman, and Amanda Palmer to the retro-fabulous Puppini Sisters. Alex's background is a three-whisky conversation and involves several continents. She is a single mother of an awesome daughter; they live in the Stephen Kingdom (Downeast Maine) with two dogs.
