The Image Eye 10/16

Every week, Image publishes a bevy of creator-owned comics that our fans are eager to enjoy and the press is eager to review. We’ve got a round-up of a few reviews that caught our eye this week, plus a few panels we feel are pretty cool or representative of the comics in question, so if you’re on the fence for any of our titles, take a look at this selection of reviews and excerpts and see if anything piques your interest!

BUSHIDO #3 (of 5) by Rob Levin & Jessada Sutthi
The third weekly issue for Top Cow's 5-issue mini-series Bushido is out, scoring a 9.5 at Geeked Out Nation, an 8/10 at Comics: The Gathering, and harboring favorite-potential for Luke Anthony at The Outhousers: "The first two issues were great, but there's a building weight to this story that you don't typically get, and that's why I love it. This has a very classic comic tone to it, that in my opinion, makes it one of the greater mini-series out there. I'm not saying it is in the top 10, but I'm saying it has the potential to be one of my personal favorites." We're certainly looking for the rest of the story to unfold over the next two weeks!

NOWHERE MEN #6 by Eric Stephenson, Nate Bellegarde, Jordie Bellaire, and Fonografiks
The long-awaited sixth issue for Nowhere Men was finally released, getting perfect scores in multiple reviews(Comic Bastards, Comic Vine) and some very nice words at The AV Club, where Oliver Sava remarks that "Stephenson has created a super team for a new generation of comic book readers." Reviewers' verdict: Worth the wait.

ZERO #2 by Ales Kot, Tradd Moore, Jordie Bellaire, and Clayton Cowles
Zero #2 got perfect scores at Unleash the Fanboy and Comic Bastards, and was also the Pick of the Week at Multiversity, where Vince Ostrowski writes, "If we can expect Ales Kot and his artist to craft stories this good month in and month out, “Zero” is going to be an essential book for anyone who loves the pure craft of comic books."

SHELTERED #4 by Ed Brisson, Johnnie Christmas, and Shari Chankhamma
This week's Sheltered release got positive nods at Multiversity, Comics: The Gathering, and also at Bloody Disgusting where Jorge Solis calls it a "heart pounding issue."
