If there was one month that was going to kick off the blockbuster comic book summer season, it's gunna be May. Between the debut of SHE-SPAWN, the finale of EXQUISITE CORPSES, and everything in between, May's Top 10 chart shows that it was a month full of must-read Image Comics by the greatest assortment of creators in the business. Leading the charge was GAIL SIMONE & IG GUARA's SHE-SPAWN #1, ushering in a bold new era for Jessica Priest in the Spawn Universe. JAMES TYNION IV had two entries on the list with both the debut of ODIN #1, his brutal new horror series with MARGUERITE BENNETT and LETIZIA CADONICI, and the season finale of EXQUISITE CORPSES, which brought the breakout serial killer battle royale to a bloody end. Meanwhile, ROBERT KIRKMAN & RYAN OTTLEY's INVINCIBLE UNIVERSE: BATTLE BEAST continued to keep readers on the edge of their seats with the impending arrival of Conquest. It's going to be a brawl for all when Conquest and Battle Beast square off.
Elsewhere on the list, the Energon Universe showed up with TRANSFORMERS #32 which debuted Elita 1's new Autobot team, G.I. JOE #22, and the ENERGON UNIVERSE SPECIAL 2026 all landing in the Top 10. Other new launches included IF DESTRUCTION BE OUR LOT #1 from MATTHEW ROSENBERG, MARK ELIJAH ROSENBERG and ANDY MACDONALD, while BRETT BEAN's fan-favorite D'ORC series showed theres no stopping this runaway hit.
