Image Comics rang in the New Year in the only way it knows how, with killer stories by some of the best creators in the business. Leading the way on the first Top 10 list of the year was Gunslinger Spawn #50 from the legend Todd McFarlane, Stephen Segovia and Carlo Barberi. This issue isn't just a milestone, it's a statement that helps set the tone for what's to come in this corner of the Spawn Universe. Elsewhere on the list, it's clear as day that fans are all in on the Energon Universe with Transformers #28 (Robert Kirkman & Dan Mora), G.I. JOE #17 & 18 (Joshua Williamson, Tom Reilly & Marco Fodera), AND Void Rivals #26 (Robert Kirkman & Andre Bressan) taking key spots. Then, Robert Kirkman takes his third spot on the list with his epic Skinbreaker #5, keeping fans engaged not only with it's intriguing story, but also lush visuals from David Finch.
After an explosive adventure in Redcoat, Geoff Johns, Gary Frank & Brad Anderson brought The Northerner face to face with Tariq Geiger as the Unnamed Universe begins to take shape in Geiger #20. Also, the fan favorite series Exquisite Corpses began a brand new arc from James Tynion, Michael Walsh, Tyler Boss & Valentine De Landro and ALL the rules are being broken as the fight to be the last killer standing barrels towards its finale. Last but certainly not least, fans of Jason Aaron & Mahmud Asrar's Bug Wars got a special treat with Bug Wars: The Spyder Wytch one-shot that expanded the darkest corners of the yard and rewarded readers with lore that will keep them on their toes for when the series returns.
