January came out of the gate with a red-hot start that is going to set the tone for the entire year. Then, one of comics' most definitive crime sagas hits shelves once again as Criminal, Vol. 10 (New Printing) by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips continues to show why it's one of the best books out there. The month also saw the release of Altamont by Herik Hannah and fan favorite artist Charlie Adlard, which offers a unique look at an infamous moment in cultural history by giving us a disenchanted portrait of a free and dreamy youth, marked by the Vietnam War. David Marquez's first creator owned series at Image Comics, The Unchosen, Vol. 1 took readers on a post-apocalyptic battle for survival with dazzling action scenes and some tense emotional moments.
The start of 2026 had something for everyone and is only the beginning of an incredible year for Image Comics fans.
