Valentine's Day is nearing and romance is in the air — often in unexpected places! Image Comics thrives on diversity of genres — science fiction, crime, fantasy, horror, and drama all find a place in our line of books. And what finds a place in all of these? Love! Below are 12 of some of the most romantic moments in Image Comics titles.

12. Breaking the bad news in GRAVEYARD SHIFT #2 by Jay Faerber and Fran Bueno

Liam’s love for Hope is put to the ultimate test. As a homicide detective, he’s used to dealing with death… but how do you tell your girlfriend she’s a vampire?

11. Happiness at last? in THE LI’L DEPRESSED BOY #13 (collected in Volume 4) by S. Steven Struble and Sina Grace

LDB finally goes out with Spike, the girl of his dreams, and… everything seems to go great? It’s a new experience for sure.

10. The kiss in MORNING GLORIES #18 (collected in Volume 3 and the Deluxe Edition, Volume 2 hardcover) by Nick Spencer and Joe Eisma

9. Just one more moment in TEN GRAND #2 (collected in Volume 1) by J. Michael Stracyznski, Ben Templesmith, and C.P. Smith

6. Toni and Paneer’s rocky romance in CHEW #27 (collected in Volume 6 and the Omnivore Edition, Volume 3 hardcover) by John Layman and Rob Guillory

Toni and Paneer’s relationship had a strange start — after all, the first thing Toni did after Paneer told her he loved her was tear a chunk out of his shoulder with her teeth (she’s cibovoyant, which means… well, just read the book, OK?). But in the end, love prevailed.

5. Death falls in love in EAST OF WEST #4 (collected in Volume 1) by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Dragotta

Mao Xiaolian is a force of nature. Death, one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, abandons his duty to end the world out of love for her. When’s the last time anyone did that for you?

4. Ally and Lisa put the heart in BDSM in SUNSTONE by Stjepan Sejic

Forget what you’ve heard. BDSM is all about trust and consent. And in SUNSTONE, consent has never been hotter.

3. Alex and Ada risk it all in ALEX + ADA #10 (collected in Volume 2) by Sarah Vaughn and Jonathan Luna
