Welcome to The i Word, the official podcast of Image Comics, hosted by David Brothers. In creator-owned comics, the creator is the real star, and the goal of the podcast is to not just talk comics with one creator at a time, but to give you a chance to see what influences them, too. For the first half of the show, we'll talk about their comics work. We'll discuss their process, collaborators, upcoming work, and other things related to their books. After that's done, we'll switch gears and talk about something they're passionate about, be it sports, video games, movies, or obscure b-sides from an ultra-specific microgenre of music. This week, we're speaking to Kyle Higgins, co-creator of HADRIAN'S WALL & C.O.W.L. Kyle has a background in film, and shares his enjoyment of directing with us.
HADRIAN'S WALL, by Kyle Higgins, Alec Siegel, & Rod Reis, is an ordinary story in an extraordinary setting. A man has been murdered under mysterious circumstances, and an investigator must figure out who did it. Complicating matters is the fact that the deceased is a man who not only shot the investigator in the past, but also went on to marry the investigator's ex-wife, who, by the way, is also present on Hadrian's Wall, the space ship that serves as the site of the murder. Got all that? Good. After, Higgins discusses how much he enjoys directing films.
