Image Comics Publisher Eric Stephenson's keynote address will debut several new projects and initiatives for Image Comics and our incredible roster of creators, providing a sneak peek into what's hot and new from creator-owned comics and where the comics industry goes from here.
Our afternoon programming will go into even greater detail on the projects announced during the keynote address, giving you a chance to pick the brains of the creators in attendance, gain insight into what's coming, and unveil a bit of the magic that makes an "Image comic" the hottest book on the shelves.
Alongside each panel will be signings for our attending creators. Some signings will have an item limit, require a wristband, or be closed after a certain number of guests have been admitted.
*Signings with an item limit and wristband requirement have been marked with an asterisk.
Image Expo Spring Formal dance will celebrate diversity and community in the comics industry. The traditional Spring Formal crowning ceremony will focus on a very special thank you to The Valkyries—a group that has made great strides over the past several years building an accepting, inclusive community and repeatedly championing diversity within the comics industry–and will highlight the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund's forthcoming release She Changed Comics.
Image Comics is pleased to reveal that fans attending the Image Expo Spring Formal will also be treated with a special screening of the pilot episode of OUTCAST, the forthcoming Cinemax TV series based upon the bestselling Image/Skybound series, OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA. The television series was created by Image/Skybound's own Robert Kirkman who also penned the pilot episode. The series premieres June 3rd on Cinemax and has already been renewed for a second season.
Following the hour-long screening will be a cocktail hour with live art session featuring Jim Mahfood and Jason Shawn Alexander.
New York Times bestselling artist Babs Tarr (The New 52's Batgirl) will emcee the Valkyrie crowning ceremony.
New York Times bestselling creators of THE WICKED + THE DIVINE, Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie, will offer their DJ-ing skills (and dance moves) while attendees dance, mingle with other fans, Image writers and artists, comics professionals, and members of the press, knock back signature cocktails, and snap silly selfies at the step-and-repeat or in the photo booth.
