Man of Action and Image Comics

Posted on November 14, 2014 by Jennifer de Guzman

The creative collective Man of Action has been in the news of late with the success of Big Hero 6, the animated film based on the characters and team they created for Marvel. But did you know they’re also prolific writers and artists of creator-owned comics, many of them published by Image Comics?

l-r: Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, Steven T. Seagle, Joe Casey

Here’s a quick intro to the members of Man of Action and their creations:

Joe Casey

Joe is best known for his trippy, psychedelic takes on traditional comic book genres, taking superheroes into places that aren’t merely gritty or exhilarating but unabashedly delving into the sordid or whizzing to heights of euphoria, all executed by some of the top artists in comics today.

SEX (with Piotr Kowalksi)

THE BOUNCE (with David Messina)

Joe Kelly

Joe’s stories have tremendous heart, whether he’s writing a raucous adult’s comic book about an ex-priest and werewolf on the bender of their lives or a thoughtful children’s graphic novel about grief and acceptance.

BAD DOG (with Diego Greco)

I KILL GIANTS (with Ken Niimura)

FOUR EYES (with Max Fiumara)

Duncan Rouleau

Duncan is the co-creator, along with Steven T. Seagle, of Big Hero 6. He is a prolific comic book artist, and his Image Comics titles include M. REX and THE GREAT UNKNOWN.

Steven T. Seagle

Steven, an Eisner Award-winning writer, doesn’t shy away from experimental formats and stories, even as he weaves themes of universal humanity into his narratives. The result is a range of work that few writers can equal.

Man of Action Entertainment is comprised of creators and acclaimed comic book writers Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T.
