True story.
And we've been dying to hear what you all thought of the last issue. _________________ Jonathan Luna

I dug it. I like the scene with the Cap, and when she started crying at the end, it was really powerful.
My ex-girlfriend told me she thought it was anti-climactic, but she's a horrible bitch. _________________ Dead baby/Live journal

For this to be ya'll first time at bat, you guys did a SPECTACULAR job of knocking it out of the park!!
Issue 8 was a beautiful ending to a wonderful story.
I know it's been brought up so many times, but I don't WANT another Ultra series. This was good just the way it was. Finite stories are great and this one has the legs to stand the test of time.
Can't wait until Girls is out.
I'm hoping to see you guys at CAPE. Until then, take care! |

Thanks Benito!
Yeah, we definitely didn't want to feed you the ending with a spoon and airplane noises.
It's something to ponder about... her true love is a little more than just the "coffee guy." _________________ Jonathan Luna

Closure.
We finally got it in the comic book world, yet it wasn't so close-ended that everyone died, as in other stories.
Ultra has been one of my favorite series of all time. I love the characters, the banter, the story... I will miss it more than a person should.
I would be the first to jump for joy if Ultra ever returns, but if it doesn't, I'd be just as happy. We had a full story, a full progression, amazing character development.... just great!
Lunas, thank you for making me believe that originality in comics isn't dead, that comics can be both fun and moving, and that an entire series can be great without getting stale.
Wonderful wonderful wonderful! |

Finally had the time to read this over the weekend.
First off... Thank you to the Lunas for introducing me to a new addiction. My LCS thanks you too.
Secondly... Thank you for ending the story in a way that actually ended the story. Like someone else said, I wouldn't be adverse to another Ultra series, but after hearing all the requests (and being one of the requestees) to make this an ongoing series... I can now see why you shut us all down. It was the perfect ending to this story. Perfect.
Thirdly... Girls is already on the pull list. Because I can't really be expected to go without Luna lovin', can I?
I realize this was my first foray into the genre, so I'm definitely very doe-eyed about all this but... damn am I glad that I had this story as my introduction. Y'all got me hooked.

You're very welcome, Avaylee. I'm glad you liked the ending. And I have to thank you for all of your thoughtful feedback during the series.
You know, I still can't believe ULTRA is the first comic book you really got into. It's funny because this is basically the first (published) comic book I've ever worked on, so hearing you say that really means a lot.
Yeah, we can't wait to show you GIRLS. It's gonna be fun. |
