JEFF PARKER AND STEVE LIEBER GO UNDERGROUND WITH IMAGE COMICS THIS SEPTEMBER!
The artist of WHITEOUT and writer of AGENTS OF ATLAS team up for the four issue mini-series, UNDERGROUND!
As Warner Brothers gears up to release WHITEOUT, its Eisner-winning artist Steve Lieber returns to the adventure genre with a new thriller from Image Comics, pairing with acclaimed AGENTS OF ATLAS and EXILES writer Jeff Parker on the September shipping UNDERGROUND!
“UNDERGROUND is a fast, tough story about people who have been pushed into tight corners — both ethical and literal,” Parker said. “None of them knew they were about to be caught up in a life or death struggle, it’s a situation that has spiraled out of control. I’ve known Steve Lieber for years and he’s the best at this. No one can put the real world on the comics page the way he does. He draws real people and puts them in real danger.”
In UNDERGROUND, Park Ranger and avid caver Wesley Fischer is on a one-woman mission to stop Stillwater Cave from being turned into a tourist trap, but public opinion is not on her side. When locals begin blasting in the cave, Wes and a fellow ranger investigate – and a confrontation spirals into a deadly chase deep under the Kentucky mountains!
Lieber added, “We knew Image was the right publisher for UNDERGROUND as we like how they’ve expanded the comics audience with titles like THE WALKING DEAD and now VIKING. We want to continue pushing the reading public with UNDERGROUND.”
UNDERGROUND #1 (JUL090341), a 32-page full color comic book for $3.50, will be in stores September 23rd, 2009. For more information, please see http://www.undergroundthecomic.com.

SILVERLINE BOOKS DEBUTS TWO NEW CHILDREN'S GRAPHIC NOVELS, THE LAVA IS A FLOOR AND TIMOTHY & THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL!
Silverline Books expands line of children's graphic novels this August!
This August Silverline Books, the children’s graphic novel imprint from Image Comics, debuts two all-new titles showcasing the human side of two very fantastic situations, THE LAVA IS A FLOOR by writer Justin Shady with artist Jeremy R. Scott and TIMOTHY & THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL by writer Michael Bullock with artist Michael Metcalf!
"I was immediately impressed with the way THE LAVA IS A FLOOR and TIMOTHY & THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL both appeal to a child’s sense of humor, while the vivid imagery captures the imaginations of new and reluctant readers alike, " Silverline Publisher Jim Valentino said. “Both books give unique twists on the everyday experiences of children, making them enjoyable for both kids and their parents.”
Silverline Books continues its tradition of bridging the gap between comics and children’s story books for a new generation of fans with THE LAVA IS A FLOOR and TIMOTHY AND THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL. THE LAVA IS A FLOOR is the story of a brother and sister troubled by a typical childhood dillema; they’re bored. Although these are not your typical sibling duo--they’re monsters living in the crater of a volcano! Using their imaginations they pretend to be the strangest creatures they can think of: humans! In TIMOTHY AND THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL, a young boy named Timothy soon finds out that with a seemingly normal beach towel he can transport himself to other worlds and times, including into the midst of an inter-galactic war!

CHRIS GIARRUSSO'S G-MAN: CAPE CRISIS MAINTAINS A LOWER PRICE THAN EVER BEFORE!
G-MAN CAPE CRISIS, originally anticipated at $3.50, will have a cover price of $2.99 for the entire series!
While G-MAN: CAPE CRISIS, the all-new mini-series from MINI-MARVELS cartoonist Chris Giarrusso, was originally anticipated with a cover price of $3.50, it will now feature the lower price of only $2.99!
"I know the recent price jump on a lot of mainstream titles has fans watching their wallets more than ever," Giarrusso said. "It's especially difficult to keep prices down on non-mainstream titles that don't have advertisement dollars helping to offset costs, but I'm very happy that with Image, the price of G-MAN will actually be lower than anticipated, retailing for $2.99."
G-MAN: CAPE CRISIS is the five-issue follow up to G-MAN: LEARNING TO FLY, a compilation of all of G-MAN's appearances to date, and shows what happens when pieces of G-MAN's magic cape fall into the wrong hands. While G-MAN: CAPE CRISIS was originally solicited at $3.50, the entire series will maintain a $2.99 price point, ensuring fans of all ages can afford to give the series a try!

NEW ISSUE OF INVINCIBLE TO BE SUPER POPULAR AND BELOVED FOR VAGUE, CRYPTIC REASONS!
Something might be happening in INVINCIBLE #63 and whatever it is will quite possibly be rather amazing!
In an unprecedented move, writer Robert Kirkman and illustrator Ryan Ottley have made a cryptic, semi-confident promise that INVINCIBLE #63 might be kind of a big deal for reasons they wouldn't say and plan to back it up with a special Wednesday shipment direct to comic shops!
"All I'm saying is INVINCIBLE #63 reorders should be double or triple over all retailer's orders combined plus fifty thousand," Kirkman stated. "I even heard President Barack Obama might call a press conference to discuss the contents of this very special issue, because there may be something of national interest in there. Also, every newspaper ever could possibly make it a front page story. Who knows?! All I can say for sure is every single human being on the planet, regardless of whether they read comics or even know what they are, will definitely be extremely interested in this issue, maybe even enough to buy a copy!"
INVINCIBLE #63 might even possibly be the biggest comic book event of all time, up there with The Death of Superman, The Death of Captain America, The Entirety of the Early Nineties and Action Comics #1! The only certainty is everyone must place a ridiculously massive order for a non-returnable product they may or may not make a profit on sometime in the near future. Or never. Don't ask - just buy it! You trust us, right?
Added Image Comics Publisher ericstephenson, "There's a chance this could very possibly be an event of undetermined importance, both for comics fans and people of all walks of life, with only the most passing familiarity with comic books, or even books, period. We can't really say what happens in this issue, but trust us, something does happen. And it might even be something interesting. Best not to jinx it, though, so let's just go with, 'Something happens.' It's somewhat likely a number of people we have yet to identify will want one. "
INVINCIBLE #63 (APR090384), a 32-page full color comic book easily worth around $500, but costing only $2.99, will be in stores June 17th, 2009.

SAVAGE DRAGON'S DART DEBUT HITS A BULLSEYE WITH A FULL SELLOUT AS ITS 150th MILESTONE BLOWS UP TO ONE HUNDRED PAGES!
SAVAGE DRAGON #149 faces a near-immediate complete distribution level sell out as SAVAGE DRAGON #150 expands to over one hundred pages at no extra charge!
Barely forty eight hours after release SAVAGE DRAGON #149, featuring the major debut of the deadly Dart, faces a complete distribution-level sellout just as creator Erik Larsen announces his subsequent issue's milestone expanding from sixty four to one hundred pages with no increase in price.
"I knew Dart was going to be a big deal for SAVAGE DRAGON and it looks like fans reacted well," Larsen said. "She's going to be playing a very significant role in the road ahead, especially in the fallout of our monster sized next issue. #150 will prove to be a major turning point in the live of our Chicago's finest, so much so that keeping it at sixty four pages wasn't enough. Fans who jumped on with Dart's appearance will be very happy with the bulked up hundred page issue."
While SAVAGE DRAGON has gained an increased audience after its highly publicized relaunch several months ago, SAVAGE DRAGON #149 exceeded the previous sell through with its fastest distribution level sellout to date. In addition, even though a second printing will be released with SAVAGE DRAGON #150 this July, first printings of SAVAGE DRAGON #149 may still be available at your local comic book store. SAVAGE DRAGON #150 will now not only feature an extra length thirty-page lead story and the previously announced all-new back up stories with Thor, Vanguard and Chris Giarrusso's G-Man, but also the long lost origin of the Golden Age Daredevil by Charles Biro and the out of print origin of SAVAGE DRAGON.
SAVAGE DRAGON #149 2nd Printing (MAR098163), a 32-page full color comic book for $3.50, will be in stores July 1st, 2009 to coincide with SAVAGE DRAGON #150 (MAY090295), a 100-page full color comic book for $5.99.

CHEW #1 BITES ITS WAY INTO A SELL OUT!
The cannibalistic crime thriller, CHEW, sells out with a second printing on the way!
CHEW, the all-new crime series with a cannibalistic twist from writer John Layman and illustrator Rob Guillory, debuted to a near immediate distribution-level sell out despite a significant overprint, resulting in a second printing.
"I've been insisting for years that the comic book industry has been clamoring for more books with double page spreads of non-costumed characters eating soup, and it's gratifying to see there indeed is a robust market for such a book," Layman said. "Big thanks to everybody --retailers, readers and reviewers-- who came out in such shocking numbers to check out something new and different, and more than a little bit weird. Rob Guillory's amazing art certainly played a big part in attracting people's attention, so I want to thank him for his great work as well."
CHEW's star, Detective Tony Chu, is a cop with a secret. As a Cibopath, Detective Chu gets a psychic impression from whatever he eats. While it means he's a hell of a Detective if he can stomach the evidence, once his secret gets out the government makes plans for him, whether he likes it or not. CHEW blends horror, mystery and the strangest ability of them all in an ongoing series of horrific crimes solved in the most horrific way possible. Since its release the book has been receiving an immense amount of buzz with many retailers directly contacting Image for as many copies as they can spare. Even Layman's fellow creators have been talking up the book.
CASANOVA and Uncanny X-Men Writer Matt Fraction commented, "Of all the times John Layman has made me want to throw up, this was the best. CHEW is disturbed and disturbing and warped and grotesque and hilarious and horrifying-- in short, exactly the kind of book we were all afraid John Layman had hiding inside of him somewhere. Now when they find the bodies, we can all hold up copies of CHEW and say SEE? WE TOLD YOU THIS WAS COMING. Oh, and Rob Gullory is going to helllllllllll."
CHEW #1 2nd Printing (APR098373) and CHEW #2 (MAY090346), both thirty-two page full color comic books for $2.99, will be in stores July 1st, 2009.

FALL OUT BOY'S PETE WENTZ TO CREATE FALL OUT TOY WORKS AT IMAGE COMICS THIS SEPTEMBER!
MTV breaks news of FALL OUT TOY WORKS, the new comic book mini-series from Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz!
Earlier today, MTV broke news of Fall Out Boy vocalist and bassist Pete Wentz teaming up with famed designer Darren Romanelli, Nathan Cabrera, WINTERMEN's Brett Lewis and Imaginary Friends Studio's Sam Basri to create an all-new comic book series with Image Comics debuting this September, FALL OUT TOY WORKS.
"Me and Darren came up with the idea of creating a world around 'Tiffany Blews'," Wentz told MTV News. "It's more than a comic too. In the end, it will be a graphic novel, clothing, web site and possible toys themselves."
FALL OUT TOY WORKS, inspired by the ideas and lyrics of Fall Out Boy, tells the story of a brilliant young robot maker who risks his entire company for his factory's newly produced android named Tiffany as she becomes his greatest passion and potentially his own destruction. FALL OUT TOY WORKS teams Wentz with Darren Romanelli AKA Dr. Romanelli “DRx”, the ground breaking designer behind the reinterpretations of Nike, Looney Tunes and Black Sabbath, and writer Brett Lewis, the acclaimed creator of BULLETPROOF MONK and The Wintermen. Art chores will be handled by Sam Basri of Imaginary Friends Studios, the art studio behind the art for Radical'’s Hercules: The Thracian Wars, Caliber: First Canon of Justice and Steve Nile'’s City of Dust.
Darren Romanelli added, "Pete had hit me up about designing him some custom gear and we immediately clicked. We've been throwing ideas back and forth for some time and FALL OUT TOY WORKS stemmed from a place of passion and common ground between us. Of course, Fall Out Boy has been a major inspiration, but we're reaching in the larger world of art, fashion and pop culture. We've also brought in my frequent collaborator, Nathan Cabrera, to help conceive the wider world and are thrilled to have a writer of Brett Lewis' status realizing these ideas to their fullest potential with Sam Basri of Imaginary Friends Studios."
FALL OUT TOY WORKS #1, a 32-page full color five-issue comic book for $3.99, will be in stores September 2nd, 2009. For more information, please see http://fallouttoyworks.com.
